Why we do it?
Our mission here at the Student Transition Athlete Symposium is to help guide and prepare student athletes in making their transition from high school to college and beyond by empowering them through statistical knowledge and the personal insight of previous student athletes. Also, to emphasize the importance of being a well-rounded student athlete in the areas of academics, athletics, personal growth, family relations, social development, and goal setting beyond the playing arena.
Key Topics include
Many of our student athletes fail due to lack of knowledge. We want to help empower student athletes through the sharing of real life experiences from former and present student athletes to bring about awareness of certain pitfalls.
What or who does the student identify with and how does he/she find their purpose? Must know who you are.
Recognizing skills and abilities outside of the athletic arena: stress the importance of developing personal goals.
Social Issues Preparation
How do you converse with the media?
Proper relations with Law Enforcement,
Decision making, consequences are
built in to the choices you make;
Classes on setting short and long term goals.
